UN Women Australia are hosting the International Women’s Day Breakfast 2012 in Melbourne on Monday, March 5th from 7-9 am, to raise funds for programs to provide assistance to women at risk all over the world. UN Women Australia is the National Committee for UN Women in Australia and is one of 18 National Committees globally. The National Committees support UN Women through membership programs, raising public awareness of gender and development issues and fundraising for UN Women projects around the world. International Women’s Day 2012 is about celebrating the vital role women play in enhancing economic prosperity in their families, communities and countries while recognising that significant barriers to achieving women’s economic security and equality continue to exist.
