Annual Queen Victoria Hospital Service
September 8, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm AEST
In September 1896, 11 of Melbourne’s female physicians including Drs. Clara and Constance Stone (the founder of the Victorian Medical Women’s Society) founded the Queen Victoria Hospital, the first hospital in Victoria operated for women by women. This annual service commemorates the long association the Welsh Church has had with the Queen Victoria Hospital, initiated by the use of their hall by Dr. Constance Stone as the first outpatient clinic run by women doctors for women at the turn of the century (1900), which later developed into the Queen Victoria Hospital.
The service will be followed by a light lunch.
