We are now heading into the next phase of lockdown as a nation and give our sincerest thanks to our hospital colleagues for being at the frontline and to everyone else who is helping flatten the curve by staying home and observing the physical distancing protocols.
The need to protect healthcare workers from exposure to the COVID19 virus has propelled the introduction of Telehealth which has transformed the way we conduct our daily consultations in so many ways. During such trying times we all acknowledge how important it is to have access to technology which facilitates high quality communication and supports human interaction.
Our April meeting was successfully conducted using Skype and our annual CV writing / Interview skills workshop will be conducted by webinar. This year we are not doing a live event, but instead putting together a “resource package” which will be made available to VMWS members via our website from the 16th May. This package will include 2 pre-recorded webinars (Video Interview Skills by A/Prof Louisa Ng, CV/cover letter writing skills by Dr Coutts). We have included a section in the application form where applicants can submit questions to the speakers, which can then be addressed by the speakers in their webinars. Please register your interest here.
The Medical Women’s International Association (MWIA) newsletter gives us an insight into inspiring activities our sisters are engaged in, around the globe. Please take the time to read through this update. You will need to log in to our website in order to read it.
I wish you and your loved ones health, strength and resilience during this difficult time.
