My Vote My Voice – Democracy – Past; Present; Future. Is politics structured to benefit society in the future?
Monday 8th November, 9:00am, finishing at 12:30pm by Zoom
The outstanding annual student event My Vote My Voice, conducted by the National Council of Women of Victoria, is now being held via ZOOM. Unfortunately, the Legislative Council Chamber is still not available due to COVID-19 restrictions, so this will be an online event via ZOOM.
Students from government and independent schools and the Girl Guides in Melbourne will address the topic:
My Vote My Voice: Democracy – Past; Present; Future. Is politics structured to benefit society in the future?
This is designed to encourage students to consider what the future political system may look like in order to benefit all of society. Students present on findings from their research and interviews.
We will also celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Australian Federation of Women Voters and the 75th+1 anniversary of the League of Women Voters, Victoria (LWVV), with Dr Deborah Towns OAM sharing the history of voting and the part LWVV played.
