We’re excited to invite you to a unique event focused on family planning for women in medicine who are thinking or planning on having children during their medical career. During the event, you will hear from a panel of women who have successfully balanced their medical careers with having children at various stages of their lives. These doctors will share their personal stories, highlighting the challenges and rewards of having children while pursuing a career in medicine. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussion with the panel, gaining practical advice and insights on how to make it work for you.

In addition to the personal stories, there will be a talk on infertility in women in medicine. You will learn about recent data regarding the incidence of infertility, pregnancy complications, and breastfeeding practices among Australian and New Zealand doctors. You will also receive tips on how to communicate your family planning needs to your employer, colleagues, and patients, as well as strategies for managing work-life balance. Furthermore, we are thrilled to have AMA representatives and the medical workforce in attendance, who will provide valuable suggestions and resources to support you in your journey. They will offer insights on the available grants, resources, and policies that can help women in medicine navigate family planning and career advancement. Lastly, Dr Olivia Ong will conclude the event by sharing her wisdom and tips on wellbeing and family life.

We hope you’ll join us for an inspiring and informative event, where you’ll connect with like-minded women and gain the knowledge and support you need to make informed choices about your family planning and medical career. We look forward to seeing you there!
