Event Report – CV Writing Workshop
On Wednesday May 5th 2021, the VMWS hosted our annual CV Writing Workshop run by A/Prof Deb Colville. The event was a great success, with prospective doctors at all training levels and from many different educational settings in attendance on Zoom. A/Prof Colville’s extensive experience as a leader for women in medicine absolutely shone through, as she navigated the continuous stream of questions from our audience. We learnt how to pair promoting past experiences that we are proud of, with highlighting to future employers that we are connected to our communities and honest, reliable junior doctors. The seamless transition between A/Prof Coville’s presentation and the Q&A forum, allowed for core content to be covered and each attendee to be empowered to ask their own specific questions in a supportive environment. We look forward to seeing this event continue for many years into the future and look forward to A/Prof Colville training current VMWS committee members to be facilitators and perhaps CV reviewers for next year’s session.
